well I guess I've caught the tumblr bug... though I still don't really know how to use it. Is there anyway to share a tumblr post onto facebook or blogger, other than manually saving the picture?

I only know that you can share Tumblr posts on FB, not on blogger.
On your dashboard, click on the title of your blog (I don't know what it's called but it's the link next to the Dashboard link), go to settings on the right panel, then check "Share your Tumblr posts in your News Feed". You can share to Twitter too :)
